While planning your visit to Agadir, make sure to not miss one of the best attractions of the city, Crocoparc, the first crocodile zoological park in Morocco. The park opened in 2015 and promises you a wonderful day.

The park has more than 300 Nile crocodiles (Crocodylus niloticus) and many Moroccan crocodiles as well as giant tortoises (Centrochelys sulcata), green iguanas, giant pythons, anacondas, and marmosets.

What is CrocoParc?

As said earlier CrocoParc is a crocodile zoological park where you can closely see Nile and Moroccan crocodiles as well as many other reptiles and animals. The park has more than 300 Nile crocodiles, many Moroccan crocodiles, it has also green iguanas and giant pythons and anacondas. Crocoparc has also a lot of marmosets that you can see very closely.

The park is located in the region of Drarga in the eastern entrance of the city of Agadir (at about 6 Miles – 10 Km – from the center of the city).

A visit rich in emotions

First of all, as you arrive, you will notice an original entrance, a huge crocodile mouth in which you must enter to access the reception area. The reception area is decorated like a jungle what immerses you from the beginning into the CrocoParc world.

The circuit

The parc offers simple visits as well as guided visits (with multilingual guides) through over 660 yards (over 600 meters) of a well-marked circuit. Through this maze of paths and walkways, you can closely observe reptiles in their daily lives: lazing in the sun, bathing and demonstrating the power of their jaws during their meal (in the summer: 5 meals per day at the same time everyday, make sure to assist to one of them).

The circuit, is well marked by informational panels to learn not only about crocodiles, but also about the different plant species which inhabit the crossed gardens.

The gardens

The parc hosts more than 300 spices of exotic plants from all over the world, from Africa, Asia, Europe, Australia and America. By passing through the paths and the botanical garden you are traveling across the 5 continents flora.

The cactus garden

By almost the middle of the circuit you will access the cactus garden where you can admire many spices of cactus and you will be able to observe very closely green iguanas and huge tortoises. For the pleasure of young and old, a suspended course allows you to take the height to admire these landscapes.

The parc offers your the opportunity to see crocodiles at some inches distance from you in two placements. The first just at the beginning of the circuit where you can admire a magnificent show of crocodiles eating their daily meals through a reinforced glass. The second one at almost the end of the circuit where you can enter the “Monsters cave” where you can admire these amazing reptiles through a glass structure just in the middle of many giant crocodiles.

The laboratory and the nursery

This is the first crocodile conservation center in Morocco that is accessible to the public. In this laboratory you can observe babies of crocodiles and many other spices. You can learn a lot about the evolution of those animals her.

Children activities

Across the park you can find many children playgrounds constructed of local wood according the international safety standards. These playgrounds perfectly fit the landscape.

The parc also offers many workshops for children: mask, face painting, coloring, origami, puzzle, pottery, etc. These workshops are animated by the Crocoparc animation team.

The children can also discover paleontology in the paleontoligical areas where they can try to find some fossils under the sand.

Drinks and sweeties

While working through the parc you will encounter The Treasures Cave, a well decorated shop where you can buy fresh drinks, snacks, ice creams, sweets and many more.

Amphitheater

In this space you can attend educational presentations and explanations about animals and flora, along with recounting stories and legends about the crocodiles. You can also watch documentaries broadcast about crocodiles in this place.

The restaurant: La Table Du Croco

At almost the end of the circuit you will find the “La Table Du Croco” restaurant. In this restaurant you can take lunch, drink coffee or take some fresh drinks. The restaurant has a huge terrace which overlooks an amazing landscape of crocodile pool.

The exit

Before leaving, you will pass through a jungle decorated shop where you can have the choice between many souvenirs: mugs, toys, T-shirts and other items.

Access & Location

CROCOPARC is located in the town of Drarga, on the outskirts of Agadir, along National Highway 8 (highway Agadir-Marrakesh).

Public Transport:
Bus lines 5 and 9 of the Company ALSA go to Drarga, travelling across the municipality of Agadir and there is another bus from Inezgane. More information on the ALSA website…

CROCOPARC Shuttle bus:
Departure to the Park on certain days at 9:45am and 2:45pm from Uniprix Agadir (See ticket prices : excursion and call us to reserve your place).

By road:

Opening hours

  • The park opens 7/7 days and 364 days/year.
  • Opening hours: from 10:00 am to 08:00 pm.
  • During Ramadan the opening hours are slightly modified: from 10:00 am to 05:30 pm.
  • The park is closed on the 1st day of Aid El Kebir and the day 2 the park will be open from 10:00 am to 07:00 pm

Note: The ticket office closes 30 minutes before the closure of the park.
